Privacy Policy

How we handle your information when you contact us or request a quote. In short: we use your details to respond to your enquiry, and we don't sell them to anyone.

This policy explains how TNT Scaffolding Ltd ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects your personal information, and what your rights are. It applies to this website and to any enquiry you make with us by phone, email or our online forms.

We are the data controller for the information you give us. We are committed to keeping it safe and only using it for the reasons set out below.

Who we are

TNT Scaffolding Ltd is a scaffolding contractor working across Lancashire and North Yorkshire. We are registered in England & Wales under company number 06514018.

What information we collect

We only collect the information we need to respond to you and quote for or carry out your work. Typically that is:

  • Your name
  • Your contact details (phone number, email address and, where relevant, your postal address)
  • Details about the job or property you're enquiring about
  • Any other information you choose to include in your message

We do not ask for, or knowingly collect, any special category data (such as health information), and you don't need to give us any to get a quote.

How we collect it

We collect this information directly from you when you:

  • Complete our "Get a quote" or contact form
  • Call or email us
  • Otherwise get in touch about a scaffolding job

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Respond to your enquiry and answer your questions
  • Prepare and provide a quote
  • Arrange and carry out a site survey and the work itself
  • Follow up on your enquiry and keep in touch about your job
  • Keep records for our own administration, and to meet our legal and insurance obligations

Under UK data protection law, our lawful bases for using your information are that it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (for example, preparing your quote), and our legitimate interests in running our business and responding to the people who contact us. Where we ever rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

We do not use your details for unrelated marketing, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

Who we share it with

We keep your information within our business wherever possible. We only share it where it's necessary to do the job or where we're required to by law, for example with:

  • Trusted suppliers and sub-contractors who help us deliver your work, where relevant
  • Our professional advisers, such as our accountant or insurers
  • Government or regulatory bodies where we're legally required to (for example, HMRC)

Anyone we share your information with is required to keep it secure and to use it only for the purpose we've shared it for.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only for as long as we need it. If your enquiry doesn't lead to work, we'll usually hold your details for a limited period in case you get back in touch, and then delete them. Where we do carry out work, we keep the relevant records for as long as necessary to meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations, and then securely delete or destroy them.

Keeping your information safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from being lost, misused or accessed without authorisation, and we limit access to those who need it to do their job.

Cookies

This website is deliberately kept simple. We do not use advertising or re-targeting cookies. The cookies that are always set are essential ones needed for the site to work and to keep it secure (for example, by our hosting provider).

We also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is being used, but only if you accept it when asked. Until then, no analytics cookies are set. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings if you prefer — the site will still work either way. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct anything that's wrong or incomplete
  • Ask us to delete your information, where there's no good reason for us to keep it
  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information
  • Withdraw your consent, where we've relied on it

To exercise any of these rights, just contact us using the details below. We won't charge you, and we'll respond within the time limits the law sets.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
